The city is so open and such a safe haven for gay travellers that we can say with confidence that pretty much all hotels will welcome all types of traveller without batting an eyelid.
It feels like asking the question ‘is your hotel gay friendly‘ is a bit redundant in Madrid and you would probably get some quizzical looks for asking – it feels ingrained in the culture here.
However, there are always hotels that are naturally more popular with the gay community, whether because of their brand or by their proximity to the gay area of Madrid.

If you are looking for a hotel that falls in the category of ‘gay hotel’ then look no further.
The rooms are stylishly decorated, insta-worthy and come with the very cheeky ‘do disturb’ signs if you want to hang them on your doors!
The hotel has a small rooftop pool with a trendy rooftop bar to go alongside it.
It is also adults only which we like when we travel.
Room Mate Oscar
Located right in the gay district of Chueca (the gay district of Madrid) and with one of the best rooftop bars around, Room Mate Oscar is another great choice.
It is also one of the few high class hotels in the area with a pool.
It is also seconds away from the main high street of Gran Via for those that like to shop.
Woohoo Hostal Madrid
It’s no secret that Madrid is a fairly expensive city and if you are travelling on a budget and want a more social experience check out this hostal in the gay area of Chueca.
This is definitely an upscale hostal with flat screen tv’s in rooms, air con (which is a must in summer) and the option of private or shared.
The Hotel Lusso Infantas is a 4-star boutique hotel located in Chueca and in close proximity to all the main attractions.
The building itself is protected by World Heritage Community of Madrid for its architectural value so if you are looking for something stylish and historic, take a look at this one.
M&F Apartments Luxury
If you want something luxurious, homely and spacious then take a look at the M&F Luxury Apartment in Chueca.
The apartment sleeps up to 19 people so when we say it is big, its huge.
The apartment has 5 rooms a huge living room with a XXL sofa bed, a large TV, a fireplace and a living room.
The apartment comes with everything you need for your stay including kitchen etc.
Boutique Hotel H10 Villa De La Reina
Fit for a queen and with complimentary cava on arrival Villa De La Reina offers elegant and comfortable rooms in the centre of the city, minutes from Gran Via (main street) and Chueca (gay area).
From here you can easily access all the popular attractions of the city as well as the vibrant nightlife.
