About Us

Who are we?

We have been together for just over 12 years and got married in 2017. Throughout those 11 years we have shared a strong passion for travel and always tried to visit as many new places as possible.

Sion grew up in North Wales before moving to Manchester to do a Masters in Physics. After his degree he worked at Ernst & Young for 5.5 years becoming a Chartered Accountant. For the first 4 years he worked in business tax, which ultimately he didn’t enjoy. He then came across an internal opportunity to run programmes for the EY Foundation, a charity working with disadvantaged young people, and had the most enjoyable 18 months of his career to date. The next chapter is The Globetrotter Guys and travelling the world!

Ben grew up in Yorkshire before living in Spain for a year (becoming fluent in Spanish!). He returned to the UK when he was 18 and started a 10 year career in travel. He worked for Going Places, Thomas Cook and for the last 5 years  worked at STA Travel managing a number of different stores across the North West. Now he will be doing the travelling instead of selling it!

As of 2020, we have visited over 30 countries and have a long list of new countries to visit over the next couple of years.

Mission Statement

It can be hard enough to live day to day life as an LGBTQ+ person let alone go out of your comfort zone and travel!

We want to try and break down some of these barriers and make travel for LGBTQ+ people easier.

We are doing this through sharing our own experiences, producing LGBTQ+ guides to destinations and interviewing people from all around the world to find out what its really like to be LGBTQ+ in their countries.

We hope to inspire, educate, promote safety and get more people travelling!

The story so far…

As a gay couple, we are interested in the different attitudes across the world when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights and treatment.

There are so many places where LGBTQ+ rights are celebrated and so many places where it is the complete opposite. During our travels we have been documenting and showcasing all the celebrations of LGBTQ+ life across the world because quite simply, these events drive positive change and that is something we want to be a part of and share.

We showcase the best adventures in each location, the best accommodation and of course, the best food! We have high standards so you should expect good things being shared!

We look forward to continuing to share our adventures with you! Please keep up to date by signing up to our mailing list and keeping up to date on Instagram , Facebook and Youtube.

If you have any questions, email us at theglobetrotterguys@outlook.com

Have a great day.
