Anyone that spends a lot of time on the road will know that constantly figuring out how to get from A to B, where to stay, and what to do when you get there is a pretty exhausting job.
As two people that have to do this pretty much day in day out, we are always looking for ways to make life easier.

We were even more excited when we had the chance to travel for a weekend in Milan, to try out this new product for ourselves!
How did we get to Milan?
At the time of visiting Milan, we were staying in Malaga, mainland Spain.
We weren’t sure whether or not we would have to return to the UK to take our easyJet flight to Milan, but luckily, we didn’t need to.
We didn’t know this previously, but easyJet also operates flight routes between various European cities, so we were able to fly direct between Malaga and Milan. This was great news for us!
Of course, for anyone travelling from the UK, there are a huge choice of destinations served by almost all of the UK airports.
Where did we stay for our weekend in Milan?
Milan is the second largest city in Italy after Rome, and as such has countless accommodation options available ranging from value right through to 5* luxury.
As we were only in Milan for two nights, we really wanted the perfect, romantic experience, but also easy access into the city, and so we chose to stay in the Piazza della Repubblica area.
This was very close to the fashion district which was something we were keen to see, but also walking distance to the cathedral, nightlife options, and a good choice of restaurants.

What did we do during our weekend in Milan?
Our weekend in Milan was pretty much a whistle-stop tour within 36 hours, so we really wanted to maximise our time.
Our priorities were a little bit of sightseeing including the fashion district (I mean you can’t not in Milan – it is the fashion capital of the World after all!) and the ‘Duomo’ cathedral, with the rest of our time spent eating and drinking!
The fashion district is an area bordered by four streets – Via Manzoni, Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia and Via Montenapoleone – and so has become known as ‘Quadrilatero d’Oro’ or the Golden Rectangle.
Here it is pretty much as you would imagine – streets lined with trendy boutiques, world famous names including Berluti, Prada, Miu Miu, antique shops, fancy restaurants and cafes.
We had a little walk around, but unfortunately for us we had to stop at window shopping!
After we had explored the fashion district, we walked to the Duomo. It really was a magnificent building! The Milan Duomo is actually one of the largest cathedrals in the world, with a very impressive number of statues and spires.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have tickets to enter, and the queue was far too long to wait, so we only photographed it from outside. Based on the beautiful exterior, we can only imagine how impressive it would be inside!
And then after spending the morning walking around the city, we had more than built up an appetite, and we were ready for some food!
We went on a guided ‘Favourite Foods of Milan Private Tasting Tour’. I mean for us, Italy is ALL about the food and drink!
Our private food tour lasted about 3 hours, and included around 6 different tastings at various different venues, along with a glass of wine.
We tried gelato, pizza, focaccia, a traditional sandwich, cured meats, fresh mozzarella and more! We were in foodie heaven!! As well as the tastings, as this was a guided tour walking from venue to venue, we also learnt a little about the history of the various districts and the Italian culture.
