20 Gay Hotels in Miami: The Best Gay Hotels to Book

There are some super gay hotels in Miami and it’s no surprise to us at all!

When we first visited Miami (South Beach) it was clearly welcoming for LGBTQ+ travellers with many gay friendly and gay hotels to choose from!

We also found Miami to be a very iconic place, exactly as we had seen it in films with people passing by on roller skates and hot guys pumping themselves up on Muscle Beach.

Combine that with the fact it’s a very trendy destination and it’s easy to see why we were quickly sold.

We also found a number of gay beaches in Miami, as well as gay bars and clubs (mainly in South Beach) – when it comes to gay destinations, Miami is a good bet!

It you want to explore further afield, there are other gay areas within an hour including the super gay Wilton Manors and its many clothing optional gay hotels.

So what are the best gay hotels in Miami ? Lets take a look, here is our list of the top gay hotels in Miami for your next trip:

20 of the Best Gay Hotels in Miami Beach

If you are looking for the best gay hotels in Miami beach we would first split the hotels in Miami between ‘gay’ and ‘gay friendly’.

First up are the hotels which are designed specifically for gay travellers and the main ones we would book!

1. AxelBeach Miami South Beach – Adults Only

gay hotels in miami Axelbeach Miami

We love the Axel chain of hotels and the fact that they playfully describe themselves as ‘hetero-friendly’. The brand is well known for being a gay hotel with all of it’s cheey touches such as the iconic ‘Do Disturb’ signs.

The Axel brand is one of the most popular brands of gay hotels and resorts in Europe, and AxelBeach Miami is one of the more popular gay hotels in Miami.

We have stayed at Axel in both Berlin and Gran Canaria and had a great experience at both! Each Axel has it’s own style and this is no exception.

Axelbeach Miami has carefully brought itself to life on 1500 Collins Avenue whilst maintaining the character and Art Deco style of the original building. So much so that it was recognized with the Merit Award of Excellence for Historic Preservation & Restoration 2020 by AIA Florida due to the sensitivity to the original design preserving original elements such as eyebrow windows, neon facade lighting and an ornamental entry fountain.

They have of course added new features like an elevated hot tub (which we have seen get very busy and ‘fun’), a pool side restaurant, a bar with a colorful dance floor, spa and gym.

As a result AxelBeach Miami should be high on ourlist when booking a gay hotel in Miami.

Did we also mention that AxelBeach Miami is adults only? Something we always look for if possible and in terms of location it’s one block away from the beach and within walking distance to the gay beach.

Take a look at the availability for AxelBeach Miami.

2. Hotel Gaythering Miami – Miami’s ‘Gayest’ Hotel

gay hotels in miami

So we thought AxelBeach has some cheeky touchs but with the tag line ‘where gay men stay and play’ what more do you need to know? Hotel Gaythering is a very popular gay hotel in Miami for gay men who want to have some fun and maybe ‘socialise’ a little.

Hotel Gaythering caters exclusively to gay guests who are looking to experience the local scene and is locatd in the Miami Beach gayborhood steps away from local restaurants and shops.

The style of the hotel is intended to be provocative and it delivers just that. Head to their website and I am sure your mouth might drop open, they’ve worked with some seriously hot gay models and entertainers to bring the vibe of the hotel to life.

One of the unique and exciting features of this gay hotel in Miami is the gay male sauna onsite which is free to hotel guests or $20 for non-guests. The sauna is open daily from 12pm until 11pm S-T and 2am F-S.

Add to this, the onsite bar with nightly events, nude beach shuttle bus, complimentary beach chairs, towels and coolers for the beach and it’s easy to see why Hotel Gaythering brands itself as the gayest hotel in Miami Beach!
