The Newest Gay Ski Week in Switzerland: Snow Glow Verbier Pride 2027

If you are looking for a new and growing gay ski week in Switzerland, then let me introduce you to Snow Glow Verbier Pride.

Snow Glow Verbier Pride is a new addition to the European gay ski scene that has a boutique and intimate feel to it. Across a three day celebration, the event brings together both locals and tourists, creating an immediate sense of community both on and off the slopes.

This was my very first gay ski week and I loved the experience, being able to wake up to spectacular views, spend the morning skiing and then take a gay après-ski moment, left me smiling from ear to ear.

Let me tell you more about Snow Glow Verbier Pride.

What is Snow Glow Verbier Pride?

Snow Glow Verbier Pride is an emerging gay ski festival in Switzerland held over three days in April (the end of the ski season).

Expect a full schedule of skiing, music, performances, après-ski, drag brunches and bingo, spread over multiple venues, taking you from the mountain, down to the best bars and venues in the stunning village of Verbier.

Why Verbier for a Gay Ski Week in Switzerland?

Verbier is one of the most beautiful, and luxurious ski resorts in Switzerland. Known for its lively après-ski scene, stunning chalets and world class skiing, it’s easy to see why this makes the perfect destination for a gay ski week in Switzerland.

Is Verbier Gay Friendly?

Yes, Verbier is gay friendly, like much of Switzerland. It is also an incredibly safe destination, the kind of place people really do leave their doors unlocked with no worries!

Snow Glow Verbier Pride, as a new gay ski event in Switzerland, is now helping to enhance the visibility of the local queer community in Verbier as well as attract new LGBTQ+ visitors.

Snow Glow Verbier Pride: Events & Experiences

I spent the entire three days in Verbier with a huge smile on my face. Every event and activity was full of positivity and joy, with a real community feel.

Skiing in Verbier by Day

When it comes to skiing, there were a couple of options this year. Pulse Snowsports, offered a free guided group session on the slopes for anyone who wanted to join on both Friday and Saturday, or of course, you could go solo, or get a private instructor.

This was my second time on the snow so I started with a three hour session with an instructor from Pulse Snowsports who was also part of the community, this was the perfect way to start my Snow Glow Verbier Pride experience and got me confident to be back on the slopes.

Following my lesson, I found out that a group of instructors and locals were doing a fun underwear ski run in honour of Verbier Pride…of course I had to go and join in!

Gay Après-Ski Time

Verbier is known for its après-ski scene, so of course Snow Glow Verbier Pride takes over some of the most popular venues including Lumi and Le Rouge (in the village) and Ice Cube (on the mountain) for gay après-ski events with some incredibly talented queens providing the entertainment!

Drag Brunch and Bingo

If you need a rest from skiing, then make sure to get tickets for Drag Brunch and Bingo which was hosted at Terrasse Blonde. They had a great brunch spread and two rounds of bingo with some awesome prizes.

Nightlife, DJs, Drag Queens & Performances

Of course the day doesn’t end at après-ski, evening parties at venues including Taratata went on late into the night, with plenty of dancing, drinks and more incredible performances from our Snow Glow queens!

Where to Stay in Verbier for Snow Glow Verbier Pride

Verbier is a very walkable destination so you are always going to be just a few moments away from the action.

I stayed at the very beautiful Shed Hotel, the service here was top class, the breakfast was exactly what you needed ahead of an active day of skiing, I could have happily lived in my room and the views from my balcony were breathtaking.

Other hotels that are supporters of Snow Glow and worth taking a look at include the Hotel Bristol and Le Farinet.

How to Get to Verbier from Geneva

To get to Verbier, the easiest way is as follows. The journey itself is an experience with stunning views the entire way:

  • Fly into Geneva Airport.
  • Get the train from Geneva Airport to Le Chable (60 CHF) – approx 2 hours with one change at Martigny (more info).
  • Get the Gondola from Le Chable to Verbier (6.40 CHF) – the Gondola is at the exit of the train station and takes about 20 minutes up to Verbier (more info).

Practical Tips: Ski Gear and Clothing

If like me, you don’t have any gear that you own, then I highly recommend using the following suppliers:

  • Ski Service Verbier – for all your ski gear (skis, poles, boots, helmet, goggles etc).
  • Cirkel Supply – for all your clothing rentals, layers, gloves, backpacks etc. My luggage went missing so the team at Cirkel were incredibly helpful, I have used them on both my trips to Verbier. You can order in advance and your order will be waiting at your hotel, you then also leave your order at the hotel on your final day so the whole process is super convenient.
  • Passes – you will also need to buy passes to access the mountain, these can be bought for individual days. A half day pass is possible at certain points in the season but only for the afternoon.

Final Thoughts: Snow Glow Verbier Pride

Snow Glow Verbier Pride is definitely one to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, I felt that Snow Glow provided the perfect balance of skiing, lively events and time to explore the destination.

If you want to introduce yourself to a new and intimate gay ski week in Switzerland and experience the spectacular village of Verbier, then make sure to mark your calendars for next year.
