It feels like asking the question ‘is your hotel gay friendly‘ is a bit redundant in Madrid and you would probably get some quizzical looks for asking – it feels ingrained in the culture here.
However, there are always hotels that are naturally more popular with the gay community, whether because of their brand or by their proximity to the gay area of Madrid (Chueca).

This is the main gay hotel in Madrid.
If you are looking for a hotel that falls in the category of ‘gay hotel‘ in Madrid then look no further.
Having stayed at Axel Hotels in Berlin and Gran Canaria this would be my first choice, especially since it is specifically aimed at gay travellers and brands itself as ‘hetero-friendly’.
The rooms are stylishly decorated, insta-worthy and come with the very cheeky ‘do disturb’ signs if you want to hang them on your doors!
The hotel has a small rooftop pool with a trendy rooftop bar to go alongside it.

Room Mate Oscar
Located right in the gay district of Chueca (the gay district of Madrid) and with one of the best rooftop bars around, Room Mate Oscar is another great choice.
It is also one of the few high class hotels in the area with a pool.
It is also seconds away from the main high street of Gran Via for those that like to shop.
Hotel Avani Alonso Martinez
Hotel Avani Alonso Martinez, is located just above Chueca and is an short ten minute walk into the heart of the gay scene in Madrid.
The hotel is a huge supporter of Madrid Pride, investing time and money each year into taking part in the Madrid Pride parade. This is exactly what I love to see from brands, consistent support for the community year upon year.
The rooms are beautiful, with luxury toiletries, stylish decor and I specifically loved that my room had a small balcony allowing me to enjoy views over the city.
Beyond the room, the hotel has a well equipped gym to get your pup on before heading for a gay night out in Chueca and then after your night our, The Pantry serves up and extensive and tasty breakfast each morning.

Woohoo Rooms Chueca
Woohoo Rooms Chueca is centrally located in the Chueca District, this is the gay area of Madrid so a great location.
Rooms at this guest house offer free Wi-Fi and private bathroom and luggage storage.
This is a more reasonable price point than some of the other options.
ITC Infantas by Soho Boutique
ITC Infantas by Soho Boutique is a 4-star boutique hotel located in Chueca and in close proximity to all the main attractions.
The building itself is protected by World Heritage Community of Madrid for its architectural value so if you are looking for something stylish and historic, take a look at this one.
Boutique Hotel H10 Villa De La Reina
Fit for a queen and with complimentary cava on arrival Villa De La Reina offers elegant and comfortable rooms in the centre of the city, minutes from Gran Via (main street) and Chueca (gay area).
From here you can easily access all the popular attractions of the city as well as the vibrant nightlife.

B&B Hotel Madrid Centro Fuencarral 52
With clean simple and stylish rooms, this 3* B&B in Chueca (350 yards from Chueca metro) is another great option.
This hotel also boasts a rooftop terrace with a relaxation area, providing stunning views of Madrid.
Hotel Indigo Madrid – Gran Via
This beautiful 4* hotel is found on Madrid’s main street, Gram Via within easy walking distance of all the main attractions and gay nightlife.
Each air-conditioned room features free Wi-Fi is available throughout. The private bathrooms include a rainfall shower, hairdryer and bathrobe.
